Denali Llama

by Alpacka Raft

Denali Llama rafting a lake

High performance, ultralight, and bombproof. Now in its 17th year of production, the Alpacka Raft Series is time tested and proven as the most trusted, most versatile, and most imitated packraft ever. The Denali Llama is a longer option, allowing for larger packs and longer legs. People taller than 6 feet (1.88 meters) generally find it the best size for whitewater and general-purpose boating.

Our Llama includes the Cruiser spray deck and spray skirt! The Cruiser deck seals along the left boat tube and up the left side of the torso with Velcro, which easily comes apart in the event of a wet-exit. An inflatable pillow sheds water and keeps water from pooling in your lap. This spray-deck fits on the outside of your PFD with an adjustable elastic, which does let some water in at times and why we consider this deck to be “semi-dry” . The deck can be mostly removed when not needed, leaving only the zippered outline and a small panel in the bow. The Cruiser is a very simple and effective design, with no extra pieces or parts to keep track of.

Rental includes: paddle, PFD, Cruiser spray deck, inflation bag and small repair kit.

Nirvana with Spraydeck

by Kokopelli Packraft

Kokopelli Nirvana Packraft

The Nirvana with spraydeck has two chambers in the main hull. Each Whitewater Series packraft includes 6 d-rings strategically placed for packing your gear. The Nirvana spraydeck model includes a spray skirt which is 100% seam taped ensuring a mostly dry paddling experience, unless of course you have an ‘out of boat experience’. This is a great boat for the new packrafter as it is very stable in comparison to many other boats and offers a fair amount of forgiveness in whitewater. The Nirvana accommodates a wide range of sizes all the way up to people as tall as 6’3”.

Rental includes: paddle, PFD, skirt hoop, inflation bag and small repair kit.

Self-Bailing Packrafts

The main advantage of a self-bailer is that the water drains automatically, so you do not end up sitting in water all day like you can with a standard packraft. The self-bailing models are also super easy to get in and out of because there is no fidgeting with the spray deck - you can just hop out! Likewise, if you flip the boat in the river, you can just flip it back over and hop back in. No need to paddle to the side of the river to empty your boat! These are quickly becoming the standard and our personal favorites!

Keep in mind that there is typically no spray skirt, so when you get hit with a wave, you get wet. Using a self bailer typically requires warm weather or some type of clothing protection, like a dry suit or wet suit.

Nirvana XL Self-Bailer

by Kokopelli Packraft

Kokopelli Nirvana XL Self-Bailer

The Nirvana XL self-bailer has all of the same attributes of the Nirvana with spraydeck - narrow trim and aggressive rocker on the bow, which give it great whitewater handling capability. However, instead of the spraydeck to keep water out, the self-bailer contains drainage holes in the floor which allow water to drain through when it enters the packraft. The 5" inflatable floor insert provides extra buoyancy and height to the paddler to keep them above the waterline of the craft.

Rental includes: paddle, PFD, inflation bag, small repair kit, and a TZIP feature for storing gear in tubes for overnight trips!
