A couple of the questions we get asked a lot are “what should I do?” and “where should I go?” when I’m in Jackson Hole. This is especially true due to the lack of snowfall this winter… so far.
Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are great options for getting out there! You’ll have a blast exploring even if the conditions aren’t perfect!
Cross-Country Skiing in Jackson Hole:
Grand Teton National Park is great if you’re a beginner. The road isn’t groomed yet but, it’s a perfect place for great views of the Tetons!
Emily’s Pond Levee is very close to Jackson. It follows the shores of the Snake River and is about 2.1 miles, one-way. The terrain is mostly level so it’s equally great for beginners. You’ll have amazing views of the Tetons! And… It’s great for bringing along your furry friends!

Snowshoeing in Jackson:
The Bradley-Taggart Lakes area is popular for snowshoeing. You may not NEED snowshoes right now if you just stay on the trail. However, if you’re wanting to explore, snowshoes would be a good idea!
Colter Bay at Jackson Lake has some great trails as well! The Hermitage Point Trail system is awesome because it’ll take you alongside Swan Lake, Heron Pond and down to Hermitage point. The Point is right on the lake, so you’ll have some great views!
